Mineral Restoration Shop Tours
The Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad has one of the premier restoration shops in the Pacific Northwest. The shops maintain our fleet of historic locomotives and rolling stock. They also perform contract work for other historic railways.
Until now the shops have only been open to the public on rare occasions. Now we'll be offering shop tours on a regular basis. You'll visit our shops and view the locomotive maintenance and restoration facility. You'll also visit the locomotive storage facilities, including the "Gear House" which holds our collection of rare geared logging locomotives.
