Join us on a round trip from Mineral to the Big Trestle and Return

Our regular excursion trains will start the 2008 season on Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26.

The train departs from our Mineral, WA restoration facility on a run past Divide, WA to the largest trestle on the line. This is an 18 mile round trip, and takes approximately 2 to 2-1/2 hours.

During the ride you'll travel through forests and past the historic logging town of Mineral. You'll cross several small trestles over mountain streams, a large trestle over the Tilton River, and the highlight of the trip, a huge curved wooden trestle near milepost 59. At Divide you'll have a view of Storm King Mountain. The engine will move to the other end of the train, then continue the trip to the big trestle.

The grades on this portion of the line are steep, and the locomotive works hard on the trip back up the hill to Divide. The steam locomotive puts on a great show as it crosses the huge timber trestle and pulls the train back up the hill to Divide.

Saturday and Sunday trips are scheduled to be powered by one of our steam locomotives.

Advanced reservations are recommended. Please arrive 1/2 hour prior to departure time.
