Description: Murder Mystery Train On October 23rd, 2009 Mt Rainier Scenic ran its first ever murder mystery train. The passengers were given information about a mysterious murder in Mineral, and provided with clues to help solve the crime. During the train trip passengers were interviewed and additional clues presented. On the way back from the Divide the train stopped in Mineral where passengers went to the Mineral Lake Events Center for dinner. While eating dinner passengers also tried to solve the mystery. They wrote down who they thought was the murder and why they did it. After dessert the suspects were lined up and the sherriff then revealed who the murderer was, and how it happened. Prizes were awarded for the best guesses, and also the most creative answers, even if they weren't correct. The passengers really enjoyed the trip and many said they planned on doing the trip again. A second mystery train ran on Saturday 10/24 and Mt Rainier Scenic plans to run addiitional murder mystery events during the 2010 season.

Description: Glistening in the late afternoon sun, the Willamette looks like it's brand new! There's still a few small items to complete, and boiler jacketing remains to be installed, but the main work is done and the engine looks really good.
